Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Anyone ever read the Hungar Games?

Well if you havent...you should stop reading this and go start reading the best series for young adults ever created (excluding Harry Potter of coarse). It's a trilogy about a young girl, Katniss, who gets thrown into a anual hungar games which is sponsored by the capitol to establish who's in charge. In the games, there are two children (18 and younger) a boy and a girl from each district, where they have to fight each other in some type of arena, till there are only one left. This one is the victor. It's set in the future, and very intresting.

But enough about the background. I just read the third and final book of the trilogy, and I want to let out all my feelings about it. So if you havent read it, or plan on reading it....I would stop reading right now.

From the beggining of the book till the end of the book, I was sucked in. It started with her at District 13, drugged. Personally I didnt like District 13, it was very boring. I think she could have shortened it a bit.

I think it really started picking up really fast as soon as Peeta gets there and trys to kill her. I love Peeta....even when he's crazy and trying to kill Katniss. I just thought it was so sad how much the capitol tortured Peeta and how everyonce and awhile he would describe it in detail. I just felt so bad, and thought he was so brave and strong that he could get through it enough to live. Even if he had that poisen in him.

Katniss, I think, was pretty stupid and mean at times. Especially when it came to leaving Peeta behind and going to district 8 to film for the mockinjay commercial things, or when she went to the other district.

But I hated Gale. I mean sure he was a good soldier and everything. I'm glad he was there. I just thought he only thought about the war, and didnt think about anything Katniss or Peeta was going through. I hated how he was at the ending. he didnt even go to see her. Thats when I really started hating him.

I do think that when prim died, it was a bit confusing and I had to re-read it. It felt like I was in some sort of dream or something. It was sort of sureal. It didnt really hit me till she was locked up for killing Coin.

I'm just glad Katniss Married Peeta. Thats what made the book! TEAM PEETA!

ME!

Road Tripping it!

Vacation.

I guess it could be considered vacation. I mean, I didnt have to do any chores, go to swim practice, or eat healthy.

But I did have to sit in the car with my two younger sisters and my mom for a total sum of 24 hours. It consisted of yelling, fighting, whining, spilling, and farting. There were times when I wanted to drive off a cliff just to end the agony.

But of coarse I put on my best happy face and went along with it.

So, on the first night we drove from Bremerton, Washington, all the way to Seaside, Oregon. It may not be that long of a drive, but my mom forgot her credit card so we had to turn back home after driving for a half an hour, then we had to drop off my dog before we were 'Officially' on the road for our road trip vacation.

Luckily I had a magazine that kept me preocupied for about two hours of that drive. But by the time we got to seaside, which was rainy, cold, and windy, it was about 6 pm. So we ate dinner and walked around. We did buy 25$ worth of Taffy (175 flavors...I mean c'mon!). Then we slept in a motel 6, where my sister controlled the tv so we watched Stuck in the suburbs on Disney Channel. Not exactly choice TV. Then I slept on what felt like sticksand branches...m back hurt SO bad the next day.

Then the next day we were back in the car by 9 am, it was my sister's birthday that day so she was obviosly a pain and got the front seat a lot of the time. We were pretty much driving the whole day. We made two stops. Once at the Sea Lions Cave, wich was WAY overpriced for something that was definatly not that exciting. I could barely see the freaking sea lions! I dont reccomened you make the stop. Then we made a stop at a mexican/american restraunt. Terrible food.

FINALLY we made it to the tree house resort. But we got there too late to get the tour, so we had to find our own tree house, bathroom, and shower. It took a bit. But we finally found ours. It was the lamest one. All it was was a yurt on a platform, maybe 7 feet high off the ground, right next to the horse pasture. The other ones were actual tree houses up in trees, where you had to climb up or walk across a cool bridge. I mean all ours was, is a freaking TENT ON A STICK! No wonder it wasnt already reserved. NO ONEWANTS IT.

But by the next day it got a little better. I woke up to a really good breakfast. It was homade! Not the usual hotel cheap breakfast you usually get. No there were cooks and everything. We woke up and got dressed and finally got the tour.

They had a tarzan swing, which was just a swing on a very tall tree but it went really high. It was pretty cool. Then there was this begginers zipline that you could go on without a class or harnass....not as cool.

But the best part of the whole vacation was the horseback riding. We had a blast. I was the second to last in the line, and was on a tannish horse. It wasa diabetic so it had to wear a muzzle....but it was a very nice horse. Kinda impatient, but that gave it character. We went on a trail which went up and down hills. We even got to trot a bit. that was fun.

After that, we had gone back to our tree house, wanting to go swimming, but while we were getting dressed one of the horses got out. So the people came to get the horse and put it back in. But while they were putting it back in, one of the horses started to hump another horse. We didnt find this out till later, but they're both girls. One was pregnant. It did this throught the day, and it got to the point where the other horse kicked the one humping right in the neck. It was pretty funny.

But we went swimming a few times. The pool was cold, but really cool. It looked like a pond. It had rocks on the bottom and grass around the edges with running water around it from a river. The coolest pool i've ever seen.

Then the next day we headed home and finished our school clothes shopping. But it was SO hot and such a long drive. NOT fun.

Now i'm back, and thinking about the trip. I feel like it was worth the drive, but I dont think I need to do it again anytime soon.

Anyone else have any cool trips like this? Let me know!

My life....and whatever might get thrown in while living

So I finally decided to post a picture from the concert that I went to at the beginning of the summer. It's Mr John O'Callaghan, the beautiful singer of possibly the most amazing band in the world, The Maine. I have some more, but me being the lazy person that I am, I honestly don't feel like posting anymore except for the one that was on my phone. Mind you, I didn't even take it, a friend of mine took the picture and then sent it to me. I didn't get that close to John. But I did get that close to Kennedy Brock, the beautiful, sexy, and amazing guitarist.

But besides obsessing over The Maine's new Album Black & White I have started practice for the Swim team, which so far I am enjoying. I'm getting in shape while also having fun and meeting some new people. It's just a little weird, because I have never swam competitively, so we'll see how well I do. I mean I've been swimming for as long as I can remember, mostly because my family is really into water sports and needing to be a strong swimmer is a necessity. SO I am defintly not the worst swimmer. But I am terrible at the non-stroke things like; Flips turns, drills, and starting.

Oh yeah, I also got VIP tickets to the Never Shout Never concert in Seattle, the first stop on the Harmony tour. This means, i get to meet Christofer Drew; the man behind the band. It will be my first time meeting him and I've seen him every time he's come to Seattle since he went on tour with Boys like Girls in the winter of last year (which may not be a lot, but it's been about 3 times). I also get a signed poster, and a laminate along with a download of his new Album Harmony. Plus I'll get to see the Maine again. Oh how I love the Maine. Oh and I Can Make A Business Like Nobody's Business and Carter Hulsey are definitely not so bad either.
PS...I might be putting some of the music Mentioned above on my playlist!

Simplicity

I really love this! I wish math was that simple...I would have a WAY better grade! haha
WOW!

I havent blogged in awhile. Looks like life has gotten in the way, yet again!

Stupid life. :)

Well here's a recap since my last blog. I went to my cousin's wedding. Very cool wedding, not boring like most seem to be. Took my driver's test. Failed; now I have to wait 3 months before I can take it again. Not a very good day for me. Went school clothes shopping in south center. I also got in a arguement with a friend, and dont know how that is going to play out. I also got all my stuff turned in for swim team, which starts on August 23rd....so I've been going to the pool lately to get in shape.

Phew...

I'll try to post more often! Keyword; try.

Sometimes I wanna feel like a princess!

So, I'm not exactly the most girly girl you'll ever meet. I don't wear skirts or dresses, I like being comfortable and sometimes I walk around in just basketball shorts and a tee shirt. Like yesterday, I went to watch my sister in her golf tournament at a golf coarse where all the rich people go. I was wearing basketball shorts and flip flops, I hadn't don't my hair and I wasn't wearing any makeup. Lets just say I stuck out like a sore thumb.

But on those speacial occasions I like dressing up in a dress and doing my hair. So I enjoy going to dances at school, only because I have an excuse to dress up nice. Tomorrow, actually, I am going to my cousins' wedding and I am SUPER excited cause I get to wear a new skirt and look like a girl! Plus I get to see my cousins that have all gone off to college (or are getting married ).

I just hope it's not a total snooze fest.

Unfortunately it's on my dad's side, and since my parents are divorced I have to go just with my dad. I always seem to to feel uncomfortable around him (My guess is because technically he isn't my real dad, just a step dad...but he's been around for longer then my biological dad who died when I was 4). I'm kind of hoping we're with the family for most of the time.

I'm crossing my fingers that I'm not totally bored tomorrow!

Bandwagones

So the other day my mom's boyfriend asked me a question. Whats the difference between you jumping on the Harry Potter bandwagon and you jumping on the Twilight Bandwagon? It's a good question for someone who doesn't exactly like either of them, but sees how popular they are. But I thought it was a good thing to blog about.

I started liking Harry potter in like 3rd grade, when I didn't fully understand what I was reading (I'm now a Junior in High School). That's about 8 years. I started liking twilight in 9th grade and and stopped in 10th grade. It's a huge difference.

Also, Harry Potter's plot is so much deeper with many more things going on. Twilight....not so much. I had liked Twilight at the time, because it was a cute and sort of complicated love story. Harry Potter just has more appeal for all ages and I can continue to like it through the years.

Plus...Twilight has just gotten WAY to commercialized to actually like. Sure Harry potter has some of the merchandise but they are doing it more in a subtle.

Plus there is that one simple fact; Harry potter is written WAY better (:

Hot Chelle Rae - Bleed

This is my new favorite song. "Bleed" by Hot Chelle Rae

My driving test...

Gah. I failed my driving test....AGAIN! I must suck at driving, since I've been driving for over a year now! It's just seem to make really small mistakes. Like too wide a turn or cutting corners when making turns, or not checking my blind spot when changing lanes...even though it wasnt needed. I guess next time I'll have to be PERFECT. No mistakes.

Thankfully I finally got my phone. So thats something that has made my day a bit better.

Thursday, July 15, 2010

So the other day I lost my phone while watching Prince Of Persia at the drive in. Actually I fell asleep during the movie cause it was pretty boring, plus we had already seen Toy Story 3...which is just as good the second time. But it had to be one of the worst night's of my life. I mean we left the drive in at 2 in the morning and got home around 2:30am. I thought my phone was back in the trunk where we had been sitting. So I went back to the trunk to look, but it wasn't there. I looked for about a half an hour. Mind you this was all the day before the concert that I recalled the other day, so getting ahold of my friends was really hard. One of the good things that come out of Facebook is that I could get ahold of my friends through the social networking site.

Then, when I was at my dad's I got my hopes up thinking 'Oh maybe they found it!' since we went to go see Grown ups and Karate Kid (both OK movies). They had actually found a phone, unfortunately it wasn't mine. But you have no idea how I felt when they said they had a phone. Oh GOD i wanted them to find it.

So finally today, I searched on Ebay to find a cheap, sort of cool, and not totally obsolete. I finally found the HTC Ozone for Verizon Wireless. I really hope it's not a total dud, cause it was 80$ which is all the money I had, which I wanted to spend on The Maine's new album "Black & White" (I suggest you all go buy it, since The Maine is AWESOME! But anyway, if anyone has ever had experience with the phone or anything to say about it let me know. I already bought it, so it's not going to change my mind. But still....

I went to An Evening with The Maine

Last night was one of the best nights of my life. I usually feel like that after a concert. But last nights concert was the best one I've ever been to. Or at least the best headlining set, I mean it wasn't the greatest line-up. Last time I had seen the Maine was at Warped tour, they went all that great...kind of warn out, you know? Well, I have to say they defiantly came back stronger and more confident. That's pretty hard to do at El Corzone in Seattle as well, I mean the place is TINY. There's not a lot of room to do really amazing stuff. But they pulled it off, with confetti and great lights. Plus the show was sold out and it was already really hot outside for Seattle, so you can imagine how hot that tiny cramped area full of teenagers jumping around and yelling would be like. My clothes were literally soaked with a mixture of my own sweat, other people's sweat and the water they were squirting at us to keep us from passing out. We were hot, wet and stinky, but having the greatest time of our lives.

OK so now that you have the atmosphere of the concert in you head, why don't I give you a little taste of the concert. The Maine came out while playing their newest single from their album that comes out on Tuesday (Black and White), called 'Inside of You". They had lights flashing, their signature M symbol on their speakers and John the lead singer comes out shirtless. This is the first of 18 songs, which is A LOT compared to most bands. I was right up front, you know after getting past all the complaining girls who think that they should be up front without having to work for it. But I was right in front of the lead guitarist, and I ended up touching his hand once!

The thing I love about the Maine is that they really care about their fans...it's dedication to play 18 songs in such a small wet, and hot environment. But then to hang out with your fans afterward, is fantastic. Sure it took about a half an hour to actually get to them....but I got a shirt signed and to talk to them for a minuet. I told them that their show was amazing, and how it was the best I've ever been to while they signed my shirt.

The only bad thing about the night was that on the way home we stopped for taco bell...cause I have only had a little bit of pasta the whole day. SO we were waiting for about 15 minuets to get our food. We had ordered, gotten our food and was back on the road. When we started passing around the food....THEY DIDN'T PUT MY STUFF IN THE BAG!

I don't like Taco bell anymore!

House & Weather

Ahh it finally feels like it's summer here in the Pacific Northwest. Actually it feels like the hottest it's been since last years heat wave, not quite as hot. Actually people from Texas or Florida would come here and see all us Washingtonians complaining about the heat and call us crazy as the zip up their snow jacket and wrap a scarf around their necks (haha it's about 75-80 degrees). But it's really nice for us, the only problem is why couldn't we have gotten this nice weather on the fourth of July when on I was on the lake with my friends? It's not that big of a deal. Actually I hate when people are complaining about the weather here and how much they want to leave. All they say is how it's never hot here, except that when it is warm and sunny they complain about how hot it is. It's very tiring.

On a different note though....these past few days I borrowed the first season of House from my Mom's boyfriend. I really do love this show, especially Dr Chase (the blond Australian) he's such a hottie!!! Although I'vve heard people think Dr House is the hot one? ewww he's gray and old. But if anyone has a different opinion let me know!

Driving nerves!

I'm SOOOO nervous tomorrow. I keep thinking about my driving test tomorrow, which means I keep thinking of all the things that might keep me from passing. Every time I get a chance to think, I start thinking about my driving....which is adding to my anxiety! I start thinking how I could not make a complete stop, or go over the speed limit, or make a REALLY stupid mistake. Then, of coarse there is the dreaded parallel parking.

Yes. Parallel parking!

Actually today my grandpa took me out for a pretty long drive where we did a bunch of driving and parking, which included parking on a hill, backing around a corner, driving in neighborhoods and town streets. Plus trying to get me to actually be able to parallel park....which was a dud. I was able to do it once without him telling me how to do it....and I dont know WHAT I did! luckily I can usually do it, I'm just pretty far away from the curb. It's really frustrating.

But in all I just want to get the test over and pass, so I can have my long awaited freedom!

Henna and Hemp

You know what I'm doing right now? I'm waiting for my henna tatoo to finish up on my skin while making hemp braceletts....Both are really cool things....except some people apparently dont like both of them. I mean I can understand the hemp thing, since it has something to do with marajuana. But the hemp thing i DO NOT understand. Why do people freak out about it. It's not permenent...it's pretty much mud that smells good. It comes from a plant, and people have been using it for a REALLY long time. But anyway, I'm going to a 'THE Maine' Concert next friday so I made their symbol on the inside of my wrist as practice, cause my friends and I are having a HENNA PARTY sometime next week....which I CANNOT wait for!

You know what else is exciting....I'm taking my driving test THIS friday! Then I will have my license and i will finalllllllyyyyy be FREEEEEE! You have no idea what this will do for me. I can get a job, go to the pool when I want, hang out with friends more often, do more after school things! But of coarse I have to practice so I dont fail the test and have gotten my hopes up for nothing. Really the only thing I need to work on is parrallel parking and backing around a corner.

WISH ME LUCK!!!!

Yo Tengo un Perro! (I have a dog)

Have you ever wondered what is going through a dog's head? Well everytime I look at my dog Rosie who is just freaking out and running around the house with her tongue hanging out of her mouth.
I think I'm like sometype of dog whisperer, cause this is what I think; My dog LOVES stuffed animals. She doesnt chew them up, but she throws it around and jumps on it....I think she is pretending it's her puppy or something like that. Then she also likes to stare at me...and she's just thinking "why the hell are you doing that? Are you stupid or something? Why dont you just pick that tennis ball up and throw it for me so I can have some fun?"
It's even better when she's around other dogs. She seems to be afraid of small dogs, but likes jumping on big dogs and chasing them....especially boy dogs. She is quite the tease. Going from dog to dog, shaking her butt as she walks. Thats why they chase her....
Oh but I love her. I love her so much! So much that I let her sleep on my bed and get my purple comforter full of her black hair.

Estoy muy aburrido

Estoy muy aburrido is spanish for I'm very bored....which is very true. I'm sitting at home, in my living room on a gloomy day babysitting my younger sister who is watching iCarly...possibly one of THE worst shows on television. I probably just have a grudge against the show because it takes place in seattle (where I live) and they get about EVERYTHING wrong. I mean theres a new one Tonight about a heat wave. If anyone has everbeen to seattle you know that hardly ever happens, and if it does it's not that hot. Plus on top of that, they pronounce the names of places in WA wrong. I just dont like the show..... Unfortunatly it's my sister's favorite show. (along with hannah montana...which you dont want to gget me started on)

Twilight Vs Toy Story. I think toy story wins by a landslide

So I hear theTwilight saga: Eclipse premeire was today.... or maybe some other time. I just saw something on msn. What I saw were tween fans out camping out so they could see the hunky Robert pattinson (cue eye roll! He is NOT hot at all). I can see their conversations now "OMG! I cant wait! The last movie was SOOOO good. Like, I've seen it about a thousand times and Taylor looks so HOT. Like, are you team Jacob or like team edward?" Like.Like.Like.Like.Like.

Now, I know I used to like twilight...you know before it got 'popular' and everything had Edwards ugly face on it. When something is on a lunchbox, you know things have gone too far.

Now a real movie would be Harry Potter, or Toy Story 3. Which is what I went to see tonight. I grew up with these movies...I grew up as Andy grew up! (Too bad Andy isnt real....cause I'd like to date a man like that..ooo lala) I even didnt have to see it in 3-d to LOVE the movie. It's so emotional! Definatly more emotional then Twilight. Ken and Barbie beat Edward and Bella anyday! If anyone would like to challenge me on this, here is my reasoning:
  • Ken and Barbie are NOT akward around each other. Everytime Bella and edward are near each other I just feel all weird and uncomfortable.
  • Ken and Barbie were literally made for each other! Not so much a 100 so odd year old vampire and a 17 year old human.
  • Barbie is nicer, prettier, and smarter (she wouldnt date a vampire, I can tell you that much)
  • Barbie definatly wouldnt kiss a dog! haha

All in all Ken and Barbie beat Bella and Edward.

Again...the innerworkings of my head. Beautiful.

A Lazy Day

how many people have younger siblings? Well I have two, and since it is summer vacation and I am currently unable to drive, it means I am stuck ALL day with the two of them! One of them is a preteen that thinks she is all that, and doesnt listen to anything anyone else says...and then theres the anoying third grader that copies everything I do and doesnt listen to what anyone says. Maybe I was just used to the quiet and nice-ness of the two of them being grounded last night. Damn! Why cant they just be grounded all the time! haha

the only bad thing was that I ended up watching the movie Wolfman, which is a boring old time movie that is trying to use the whole 'werewolf' craze but came up terrible short. It was a gory, gross boring movie. Not even scary in the least.

anyway, back to today though. It was sort of my lazy day, and I didnt leave the house (when I did it hurt my eyes hehe....I'm not used to the sun! It burns!)....I scrapbooked some pictures I got printed yesterday. I'm not going to lie, it looks pretty awesome (only cause they were concert pics besides the obvious fact that I'm extremly sexy and anything with my face on it is beautiful!)ahh I love the innerworkings of my mind. But back on topic, I also watched wifeswap and wondered how some of these familys live like that. One family's only hobby was clipping coupons and got a high from saving money, plus they never leave the house. How the hell did those two ever meet for long enough to want to have kids together!!!! I dont even want to think about that anymore actually....yuck.

Before I end up pucking, I'm going to sign off.

I would like to thank.....

You know what I think is funny? Loud people talking about their personal business in the middle of the store. I mean, sure I'm probably never going to see them again in my life.....but do they really need to shout out their personal problems. Or when a mother yells at her child when I'm standing not two feet away looking at the shorts? I dont want to stereotype or anything..but they were also large and had a southern accent.

But then again...without people watching life just wouldnt be the same. You know how much you love the women who wears her purse as a necklace (around her neck), or the man picking his nose on the bench staring off into space. Life just wouldnt be as entertaining.....and that is why I thank all those weird people in the world!

Facebook...or is it cocaine?

So I have a facebook account, and I actually REALLY used to like it. I used to actually play the games on their as well.....but then again I also used to like Twilight. But like most things it gets old (except for Harry Potter...that will never get old!). But now I just feel like facebook has turned into one big complaining center. I mean I go on there and I see posts like "I want to kill myself" or "I have no life". I go on there and by the time I'm done I just feel so icky! Or theres those posts where they just explain their whole day. If I want to hear about your life, I'll ask! haha Plus I dont even know half my friendss.

and that was....my insight to life for the day!

So I went over to my grandmas house today for Fathers day, and you get the normal feeling you get around from seeing family you dont see all the time. You know the feeling? The one where your all polite and quiet, and hear old family storys you've heard about 10 times already before. Or listen to your parents tell the story about the time you threw up at school, or slept walked in the hotel hallway. Plus that whole time your just thinking 'can I go home now!?' because you want to go on facebook to get depressed or frustrated (hehe).

and guess what i did? I went on facebook when I went home. The progammers must have done something that makes you addicted to the site...I swear.
